140+ Love Letters for Stefanie
This February, you sent over 140 letters filled with love to Belgium to remind someone that even strong people deserve to be taken care of.
Stefanie’s life has not been void of difficulty. Her parents were divorced when she was young, and she lost her father five years ago. During her grief, she was in the difficult process of getting pregnant through embryo selection. Thankfully, she got her firstborn four years ago! Stefanie is a wonderful mother, and has cared for her daughter throughout medical issues and all of the ups and downs of life.
Stefanie and her partner have decided to try for a sibling through embryo selection - a process that causes a lot of physical and emotional pain. Despite this, Stefanie’s best friend of 20 years shared that Stefanie still manages to take care of her family, manage her household, and work as a social worker - a job she’s held for 15 years. Even throughout her own struggles, she has always cared enough to work for the good of others. Her friend said that, “helping others makes her feel like more than just a mom and a patient.”
In the midst of a difficult season, Stefanie needed encouragement to keep fighting forward, and you showered her with kindness in the best way.
Over the course of the month, you wrote over 140 letters to Stefanie in both English and Dutch!

Stefanie received letters from children as young as 8, and a Belgium English teacher who let his class write to her in English!
