290+ Love Letters for Nic

Throughout the holiday season, you rallied for Nic- a newly retired veteran who’d served in multiple combat deployments and was awaiting surgery in December.

While we were away on hiatus, we got an update from Nic’s wife and are thrilled to report that over 290 love letters showed up for Nic.

His wife wrote back to us, “When I say these letters lifted his spirits, it’s an understatement. Having so many gracious people thank him for his service, tell him how amazing he is, send him well wishes for surgery/recovery, AND reiterate that his life ahead is full of possibility— it re-lit his flame.

To everyone who sent a letter: THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.”

Nic’s wife also informed us that many of you had questions about their three pups. She included a picture and a few extra details to share with the community:

• Walter is 2, he’s a wild boar dachshund and glued to Nic at all times.

• Stella is 5; she’s a pitbull and wishes she was small enough to be glued to Nic at all times.

• June is 9; she’s a rat terrier/border collie mix and the boss of the group.
